Michelle Martin
Council President

Councilwoman Michelle Martin has made Washington Township her home for more than 30 years.  She was elected to fill an unexpired term in November of 2001, then elected again in 2002, 2006 and 2013.  She was nominated in 2008 to serve as President of Council.  Michelle earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from  Rowan   University   in 1993.  Michelle is an Account Executive with CCS Medical, in the Wound Care Division.  Formerly, she was an Elementary School Teacher where she taught 1st, 3rd and 4th grade in  Monroe   Township  and  Gloucester   Township. Michelle is married to husband Paul, a Washington Township Police Officer. The couple resides in the Township's Gardendale section.  In an effort to further her goals, Michelle is proud to serve the residents of  Washington Township .

Angela Donato
Council Vice-President

Councilwoman Angela Donato, born and raised in Washington Township, is a first grade teacher at Bells Elementary School. Angela is a 2007 Washington Township High School graduate. With a double major in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Angela graduated from Cabrini College with a Bachelor’s in Educational Studies from in 2011, followed by her Master’s in Education from Cabrini College in 2012.

Angela is the Founder and President of the Toni Donato-Bolis and Baby RJ Foundation. Angela has spoken at many high schools and other public forums throughout the tri-state area about the dangers of distracted driving, sharing her sister, Toni Donato-Bolis’ story. She fought in Trenton to have the Kulesh, Kubert, and Bolis’ Law passed. Angela is a CCD teacher at Sts. Peter and Paul Church.

Her efforts to make a change in the deaths caused by automobile crashes have not gone unnoticed. Angela was recognized by the state assembly as one of the women in New Jersey who are making a difference. She has also received, The Bobby Milward Most Courageous Award, been distinguished as a hometown hero by Lindenwold High School, South Jersey Magazine Top 35 Superwomen, and South Jersey Magazine Woman of the Year.

Sean Longfellow

Councilman Sean Longfellow has lived in Washington Township since 1991. He is a graduate of Washington Township High School and continued his education at Virginia Tech graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Political Science and Sociology. Upon completion of his degree, he pursued a career in law enforcement and attended the Gloucester County Police Academy. Shortly after graduation from the police academy he was hired by the Delaware River Port Authority where he presently serves as a Corporal at the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Sean having previously worked for Washington Township in the public works department as a park ranger has a good working knowledge of many of the inner workings of the township. He looks forward to serving his community and wants to pursue improving the quality of services provided to our residents while keeping our taxes stable. Involved in our community, Scott Newman is a volunteer Baseball and softball coach for the Township’s Parks and Recreation program. He is also a member of the Washington Township Rotary Club and served as its President. Scott is a Board member of GCF Bank and a former Board member of Holy Family Church.

A 1985 graduate of Washington
Township High School, he graduated from Temple University in 1990 with a B.B.A. degree in Business Administration. Scott is a partner of American Title Abstract Corporation inTurnersville.

Scott Newman will continue to use his business experience and management skills on Township Council to make Township government more cost efficient and accountable.

The township is governed by a Mayor and a five member Municipal Council. The Mayor is elected by township voters and is the Chief Executive in charge of the administrative functions of the town. The Township Council is elected at-large by the entire community. The elected officials are to serve a four year term.
