The head of the Department of Law is the Township Attorney. The Township Attorney serves as the chief legal adviser for the Township. Responsibilities of the Department generally include preparing ordinances, resolutions, and legislation, providing legal counsel and advice, defend actions taken against the municipality or its employees and officers, review documents of legal nature, maintain appropriate records, and engage in negotiations to settle and compromise matters when in the best interest of the township.
